I just picked up this book because it looked like it might be good, but I wasn’t expecting a great book. But this was a great book. The kind of book that you stay up late just to read the end of. It was historically acurate, had interesting-though maybe a bit undeveloped-characters, and an intriguing plot that kept me want to keep reading up to the last page. Charles was just such a fun and dignified character, not messed up like most of the main characters you find in modern mysteries and thillers. And this is only the first book of the series. I can’t wait for more to come out!
