This book is frequently called the Citizen Kane of comics. It’s the only graphic novel to make Time Magazine’s recent top 100 novels list. It’s a must read for anyone with any interest whatsoever in the art form. And it’s a travesty that the HC library system only has 5 copies.

To get a more rounded take on super heroes, also read Moore’s two Supreme volumes, The Story of the Year and The Return, in which he reconstructs the super hero and has a lot of fun doing it.

I absoultely dread this becoming a movie. Film adaptation is the kiss of death for comics.

This novel is compelling, brilliant, and unpredictable. I missed my bus stop on several occasions because I was so absorbed!
