This is a fasanating book with adventure, sadness, happiness, and Indians.
When Dewey goes to his grandmothers house he expexts work work and more work. when he gets there he makes a raft. Dewey is very proud of it, but his grandmothor doesn't care one bit. one night dewey snuck out to finish his raft. soon he swa an Indain with an ax. The Indian snuk tward the house. dewey froze then ran to the house. He rememberd his grandmother's words. "There an't such thing as one Indian."
Now Dewey and his grandmother have to escape on Dewey's raft....if they ever make it.
