Paws to Read With an Animal
Saturday, Sept. 20, 2:30–4:30 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 18, 2:30–4:30 p.m.
Saturday, Nov. 15, 2:30–4:30 p.m.

For families. Volunteers will help put young readers at ease so they can cuddle up with a certified therapy animal and practice reading aloud. Most libraries host dogs and you can call ahead to see if other animals will be visiting.

World War I: Life on the Home Front

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the start of World War I. Local historian Iric Nathanson will talk about life in Minnesota as the war raged on in Europe. Nathanson is the author of "Modern Times in the Big City – Minneapolis in 1914," Hennepin History Magazine, January 2014.
