The library provides books and other library materials to customers who have barriers in getting to the library. The service is provided based on sensory, mental, physical, health or behavioral conditions, or lack of transportation. At-Home is a free service to residents of suburban Hennepin County.
Material is requested by the customer via the At-home by mail phone line and the items will be sent postage free to the patron.
A volunteer determines with the customer what he or she would like, and requests it from the library. The volunteer brings the materials to the customers home.
Sign up online for At-Home service or call 952-847-8850 for more information and to sign up for At-Home service!
Customers who receive At Home service also receive the 'At Home Reader' a bimonthly publication of book reviews, listings of new materials, and news items of interest about the library.
Customers of At Home Service can have reference questions answered, titles recommended and all the usual service you would receive in a traditional library setting, but over the phone! Just leave a message on our phone line and one of our reference staff will be happy return your call. Phones are not answered over the weekend. However, you can call any Hennepin County Library reference desk for further assistance.
