Brooklyn Park Library Schematic Design Approved
November 8, 2013 — The Hennepin County Board approved schematic design to construct a new Brooklyn Park Library. The new library will be a freestanding building of approximately 38,000 gross square feet (GSF) on a six acre site in Brooklyn Park, located in the northeast corner of the intersection of 85th Avenue North and West Broadway Avenue.

The new library will be a larger, technology- and patron-focused library, consistent with projected population growth, Hennepin County Library’s Strategic Plan 2011-2015 and the Brooklyn Park Library Task Force report. This facility will replace the existing 15,100 GSF library at 8600 Zane Avenue North in Brooklyn Park that was built in 1976.
