Alternative Donation Sites
Local schools, hospitals, scout troops, and religious organizations may accept books and magazines. Donations to Hennepin County Library's Outreach Services are welcome. Books, weekly magazines up to six weeks old, and monthly magazines up to one year old are accepted (National Geographic magazines are accepted back to 2000). Small donations can be brought to library buildings. For larger amounts, patrons are asked to arrange in advance with the Corrections Librarian (612-543-8852) to bring the materials to the Ridgedale Library.

Accepts college textbooks, hardcover and paperback books, fiction and nonfiction. - Half Price Books
Accepts all types of materials and will purchase some. Donations are passed on to nonprofit organizations. - Hennepin County Medical Center's Children's Literacy Program
Accepts donations of new and gently used books for infants, preschoolers, elementary-age children, and teens. There is a particular need for preschool and elementary-age materials. - Salvation Army
Accepts books and National Geographic magazines. No encyclopedias or other magazines. Will pick up donations. - University of Minnesota bookstores
Accepts college textbooks.
