Expanded hours in local libraries are a “home run” since Hennepin County Commissioners approved a recommendation to expand Sunday hours from noon to 5 p.m., at 13 Hennepin County Library locations, including Minneapolis Central Library. The hours are expected to take effect around June 1 and will be funded with revenue from the Twins' stadium sales tax.
The 13 libraries that will add hours are:
-Augsburg Park
-Brooklyn Park
-Champlin
-East Lake
-Golden Valley
-Hosmer
-Hopkins
-Minneapolis Central
-North Regional
-Oxboro
-Rockford Road
-St. Louis Park
-Westonka
Five libraries are already open on Sundays:
-Brookdale
-Eden Prairie
-Maple Grove
-Ridgedale
-Southdale
