Hennepin County broke ground on the new $5.6 million Excelsior Library last August. Located in the heart of downtown and adjacent to the Lake Minnetonka Regional Trail, it will be accessible to residents and visitors whether they drive, bike or walk.
At 7,200 square feet, the new library will have nearly double the public space. It will include a refreshed collection, a multipurpose room for library programs and community meetings, public art from mural artist Greg Preslicka, and comfortable reading areas and spaces for all.
