Thank you for your use and support of the Children’s Readmobile service. After much consideration, Children’s Readmobile is being discontinued effective immediately. This decision was not an easy one, but was made in response to the challenging economic environment we are all facing.

Children’s Readmobile leaves a legacy in the area of children’s literacy development and outreach. Library Director Lois Langer Thompson said, “I want to thank every staff member who has provided Children’s Readmobile service since its inception in 1991. These individuals have made a lasting impact on children, families and the community. I want to extend my gratitude to our customers as well, who are dedicated to developing the skills of our youngest readers.”

The Library remains committed to early literacy and connecting Readmobile customers to HCL’s resources through a variety of ways, including: library visits, programs for children and online resources. Resources like these will continue to accomplish the Readmobile's early literacy goals and will reach more children in a more cost-effective way.
