You can return items to any Hennepin County library, no matter where you checked them out. Book drops are available at all libraries for your convenience.
If you return an item after library hours, it will be considered returned the last day that the library location was open even though the items will not actually be checked in until the library reopens.Returning items to another library system
Most items borrowed from a public library in Minnesota can be returned to any other Minnesota public library. Confirm with the lending library that the item can be returned to another library system.
Staff at the library where the item is returned will note the date of return and send the item(s) back (which can take at least two weeks). During this time your account will show that the items are still checked out to you.
As long as the item was returned on or before the due date, you will not be charged a fine when the item is checked in, even if it became overdue while in transit.
Do not renew items you have already returned to another library system if they show up overdue because that will immediately charge a fine to your account. Your account will clear when they arrive back to their home library.
