On Saturday September 26 at 1:30 pm, come and celebrate this popular Asian holiday at the Augsburg Park Library in Richfield, and on Sunday September 27 from 4-6 pm at the Landmark Center in St. Paul. The free festivities include stories, traditional dance, games, crafts, and lantern parades!

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) recently completed a multi-year redesign of the naturalization test. The revised test, with an emphasis on the fundamental concepts of American democracy and the rights and responsibilities of citizenship, will help encourage citizenship applicants to learn and identify with the basic values we all share as Americans.
Go to the USCIS website , then choose the New Naturalization Test from the link on the left side.
An applicant who
** fi les the Application for Naturalization, Form N-400, BEFORE October 1, 2008, and is scheduled for his or her naturalization interview ON or AFTER October 1, 2008 up until October 1, 2009, can choose to take the old test or the new test.

For Black History Month, check out Denzel Washington's movie, "The Great Debaters." The "Great Debaters" is based on a true story about African American educator, writer, politician, and poet, Melvin Beaunorus Tolson, who inspires Black students to form the school's first debate team.
