College Board, the national organization that establishes the standards for Advanced Placement classes, just launched the AP Course Ledger. Teachers can search this public registry to find all courses authorized to use the AP label on student transcripts. Currently, College Board has a list of 37 courses that meet the AP requirements. On November 22nd, Amazon will be debuting its Kindle e-book reader. It has a wi-fi connection that will enable users to download ebooks from its store. The price is expected to be about $399. It'll be interesting to see how well it takes off!

The Minnesota Historical Society's Ask Ron database lets users search for newspapers in their micofilm collection. The collection contains virtually every newspaper published in the state and territory of Minnesota since 1849. The newspaper microfilm is located in the Minnesota History Center and is open to the public. Check the website for hours and location.
