History
The Northern Lights Study Club, also known as the Northern Lights Literary Club, was organized in 1919 and federated in 1922. The origins of the club go back to November 1901, when a group of school girls formed the Aurora Borealis Club. The Aurora Borealis Club met regularly until about 1909, lapsed for about 10 years, and then reorganized under its present name. The purpose of the club was the advancement of social, educational and benevolent projects. Each year a theme for study was selected. Meetings were held on the second Saturday of the month at the homes of members.
