The Philomathic Study Club was organized in 1925. The motto of the Philomathic Study Club was "Loyalty". Philomathic means a lover of learning. Each year a topic of study was chosen. Meetings were held twice a month in the afternoon in the community room of the Pence Building at 730 Hennepin Avenue.
