Biography
These are the papers of Marcella A. Cram, daughter of Leo and Yetta Cram. The papers are from Marcella's high school and college years. Marcella attended North High School in the late 1950s and the University of Minnesota in the early 1960s. In 1960 she is listed in the Minneapolis City Directory as a student living at 2806 17th Avenue North (her parents' home). During these years she was active in the Beth El Synagogue, Minneapolis Habonim, and the United Synagogue Youth Organization. She was invited to a luncheon hosted by the Sigma Epsilon Sigma through the University of Minnesota. During the early 1960s she went to Nebraska and stayed with a family. The correspondence is letters to her while she was in Nebraska. There also are a few mementos with the correspondence.
Description of the Collection
The scrapbook includes clippings, cards, postcards, memorabilia from North High School years, the University of Minnesota, and religious functions and activities. Also includes correspondence dating from 1961. Photos (1950s) include pictures of (perhaps) Leo and Yetta Cram, a car, Girl Scout troupe, possibly mothers of the Girl Scout troop. The photo of the Cadillac Coup Deville car has a story-it was won by Marcella's father in a contest that sponsored by Gem Razor. Some of the loose material was removed from the scrapbook and put in box one. The book pages are in extremely poor-brittle condition. The cover of the scrapbook is two green painted boards-with hinged boards and held together by string.
