Casino Royale
By Ian Fleming
The first James Bond novel, this was also the foundation for the recent movie. It is both a spy novel and a history lesson--the entire plot is saturated with the fears and political realities of the cold war. Unlike in the movie, Bond faces off against communists and Soviet agents, not terrorists. Still a thrilling tale. Surprisingly the plot is quite close to that of the movie.

Moby Dick
By Herman Melville
I know we all heard of this story. This is the first time I actually read the book though, and I really enjoyed it. It's a very interesting story, so if you don't really know the whole story of Moby Dick, you'll want to read this book!

'Salem's Lot
By Stephen King
This book was great. It incorporated vampires, but a throwback to the old school Dracula types and not the modern teenage romantic types. I whipped through this book because I could not stop reading it. Now I'm sad that I don't have anything else to read. But I highly recommend this book to someone who likes horror, vampires or Stephen King.

The Time Traveler's Wife
By Audry Niffenegger
This book is THE best book ever!! It is number one on the New York Times best seller list, and is very interesting and amazing!!!!!!!!!! I love this book so much. The movie is not that great, especially compared to the book, but it is ok.

Revolutionary Road
By Richard Yates
Revolutionary Road was a very emotional story. It shows the typical family in the 50's and really captures their inner struggle as a family.

Emma
By Jane Austen
Emma, in my opinion, is one of the best books ever written. Though the writing style of the 1800's is difficult to read, the themes and thoughts of the novel are timeless. Emma deals with a 21 year-old girl, who loves to set her friends up with suitable men. This comes with much miscommunication and confusion, as well as hurt feelings and misunderstanding. In the end, like most Austen novels, everyone gets what they deserve. Emma is a great novel because it shows the ironic, and hilarious sense of finding love.

Three Fates
By Nora Roberts
I though this book was pretty sweet since I was able to be educated about the Three Fates which were part of Greek mythology. I would've never known they existed without reading this book.
