Committee members requested that Hennepin County Human Resources consider collaborating with the committee in future discussions on the role and the hiring process.
Director Qualifications Discussion
The committee articulated that they support the education, experience, and background that enables one to take on the Library Director role; and committed to showing that the Library Board values a Master of Library and Information Science degree through the work that they do related to the hiring process.
In anticipation of a possible vote on the bill at the legislature by the close of the current session, a Director Selection Process committee will be tentatively scheduled for the week of May 20, details to be announced. That meeting will be rescheduled if there is no status change to the bill at the legislature by the date of the meeting.
Director Selection Process Committee Timeline & Outreach Plan
Upon receiving an updated process and timeline for the Library Director search the committee will reconvene to discuss opportunities for the Library Board and Director Selection Process Committee to engage with the community.
