Community Seed Library at Hosmer Library

It’s growing season at Hosmer Library! The Community Seed Library is a collaboration with Plant Grow Share, a project of the Central Area Neighborhood Development Organization (CANDO).

The seed library is a collection of community-donated seeds that can be borrowed from the library to grow at home. After the plant has gone to seed, collect seeds and donate back to the library for another neighbor to borrow.

Seed envelopes include tips for planting, growing and harvesting. A library card is not required to borrow seeds.

The mission of the Community Seed Library is to expand access to healthy, diverse and culturally appropriate food.

Seed Sorting Party at Hosmer Library - Help sort and label donated seeds for the new Community Seed Library! A seed library is a collection of community-donated seeds that can be borrowed from the library and planted at home. Volunteer while learning more about seed saving and gardening. Collaborator: Plant-Grow-Share. Join us from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, June 2.
