On Monday, January 21 (Martin Luther King Jr. Day), Hennepin County libraries are closed.
Arctic Fever is the Winter Festival celebrated in the South Lake Minnetonka Cities of Excelsior, Shorewood and Tonka Bay between Friday, Jan. 18 – Sunday, Jan. 20, 2019. There are many activities scheduled in the 3 cities for those days.
The Friends of the Excelsior Library are sponsoring the Brodini Comedy Magic show at the Excelsior Library on Saturday, January, 19 at 10:30 a.m.
A coloring contest is also part of the Arctic Fever festivities. Coloring sheets for the coloring contest are available to pick up at Excelsior Library. Artist Tasha O., a senior at Minnetonka High School, created the artwork for the coloring sheet. The contest is open to children ages 3-11. Children may pick up a coloring sheet, color, and return it by Saturday, January 19, at 5 p.m. One entry is allowed per child.
Crayons and markers will be available for children who wish to complete an entry at the library on Saturday, January 19, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.. The Friends of the Excelsior Library and Artworks Art & Frame Inc. will provide the prizes for the Arctic Fever Coloring Contest. Winners (in three categories: ages 3-5, 6-8, and 9-11) will be notified by phone. Children may reclaim their entries January 22-February 5.
