Vinyl Revival is a new series of artist residencies, programs and listening opportunities at Minneapolis Central Library. The new program highlights the vinyl collection at Minneapolis Central and its launch was covered by the Star Tribune.
Programming around Vinyl Revival has included artist residencies featuring Toki Wright, Medium Zach and Lori Barbero. Each resident artist has selected new vinyl along with curating records from the existing Minneapolis Central Library collection. They then host events surrounding the theme of records and turntablism.
In addition to Vinyl Revival programming, the Minneapolis Central Library has a Vinyl Revival Listening Room located on the third floor in meeting room N-301. Patrons can reserve the Listening Room online and listen to records. The selection in the Listening Room includes records curated by the resident artists. The Vinyl Revival Listening Room has one stereo turntable, one 4-channel stereo headphone amplifier and two pairs of studio headphones. The Listening Room is furnished with two lounge chairs and a low coffee table, with one desk chair and desk.
