Bibliographic in Nature
On display in Cargill Hall at Minneapolis Central Library September 5-October 25, Bibliographic in Nature shares artist interpretations of our natural world through images, text and books. Media includes sculpture, photography, painting, drawing and printmaking. Several artworks take their physical form from culturally known ways of compiling information, in catalogs, field guides, cabinets of curiosity, textual labels and displays. The exhibit also invites viewers into the creative process through the artists’ sketchbooks and research.
The 13 exhibiting Minnesota artists are Jill Ewald, Bernice Ficek-Swenson, Linda Gammell, Stephen Gammell, Paula McCartney and Andy Sturdevant, Meg Ojala, Bridget O’Malley, Linda River Rossi, Holly Newton Swift, Keith Taylor, Lex Thompson and Jody Williams.
See the exhibit on display September 5-October 25 in Cargill Hall at Minneapolis Central Library. To close the exhibit, join us for a reception Thursday, October 24, 6-8 p.m.
