New Cargill Gallery Exhibit: Art Is My Weapon

“Art Is My Weapon” is a multimedia group exhibition that empowers Minnesota artists to creatively address gun violence in our communities. Featuring artwork made using pieces of decommissioned weapons from a Twin Cities gun buyback program, the show includes paintings, sculptures, photographs, videos, and more from debuting artists as well as professional makers. The exhibition aims to spark respectful, nonpartisan conversations that lead to greater public awareness, conscientious community action, and responsible solutions to reducing gun violence.

This exhibition will be on display at the Cargill Gallery, located on the second floor of Minneapolis Central Library, from April 6 – May 27, 2023.

The library will host an artist reception on Sunday, April 23, 3-4:30 p.m. The event is open to the public.
