Welcome back to Eden Prairie Library

More than a thousand community members welcomed the reopening of the Eden Prairie Library on February 25.

Patrons arrived as soon as the doors opened at 9 a.m. and a steady stream of people filled the building throughout the day, wandering through the renovated space and using new features like adjustable-height computer stations, comfortable seating, and the play and learn area.

At 5 p.m., more than 100 people filled one of the new meeting rooms to hear speeches from county and library leaders and cheer a ceremonial ribbon cutting.

“This library has the highest circulation in the entire Hennepin County Library system,” said commissioner Debbie Goettel. “It is truly a community resource that brings people together.”

The energy from the ceremony continued into the evening as people gathered in the light-filled center area, reveling in the return of this dynamic community hub.
