Franklin Library closed for renovation beginning October 20
Franklin Library will close for about a three-month renovation beginning Sunday, October 20. The library is scheduled to reopen winter 2020.
The renovation will address immediate needs while a more comprehensive long-term plan is developed. Priorities include ADA accessibility and safety improvements in the restrooms, replacement of furniture and flooring, and improving sight lines in public areas.
During the closure, patrons are encouraged to visit other Hennepin County libraries nearby:
At the time of closing, all holds in the system with a pickup location of Franklin Library will have the pickup location changed to East Lake Library.
The Franklin Library book return will be closed during this time.
Franklin Learning Center will also be closed during the library renovation. Prior to the closure, staff are making referrals and connecting students to other resources for learning during the renovation.
