Minnetonka Library site work project update
Work has been underway at the Minnetonka Library site since closing August 1.
Last week, the infiltration system was installed. Once construction is complete, this system will collect stormwater from the site and allow it to filter through sandy soils, cleaning the water and returning it to native aquifers. This imitates the natural process that occurs on natural sites with no buildings or pavement, and prevents stormwater runoff into lakes and streams.
Despite weather delays due to rain, the project is on track. The library is currently scheduled to reopen in November.
