On Monday, January 21 (Martin Luther King Jr. Day), Hennepin County libraries are closed.
Minnesota artist Bebe Keith has been selected for the Ridgedale Library One Percent for Art public art project.
Keith was selected by the Art Selection Committee for Ridgedale Library, whose role is to select, commission and facilitate the installation of public art at the Ridgedale Library as stipulated in the Hennepin County Library Board Policy on Commissioned Public Art.
Keith’s planned artwork will feature twelve colorful glass panels suspended from the ceiling, each representing the location of the sunrise on the 21st of each month throughout the year.
The site for the art is a spacious lounge area, located near a set of large, east-facing picture windows that look out onto a forested wetland area.
Ridgedale Library is currently scheduled to reopen in summer 2018 with a more open floor plan featuring a variety of seating styles and reading areas, additional meeting and study rooms, enhanced areas for children and teens, and increased access to technology.
