Eager to see and enjoy the renovated library, hundreds of patrons visited Ridgedale Library on reopening day, September 24.
To mark the occasion, Hennepin County Commissioner Jan Callison and Library Director Lois Langer Thompson gave brief remarks before cutting the ribbon, with both expressing appreciation for Ridgedale Library staff, Friends of the Hennepin County Library and Friends of the Ridgedale Library, and Hennepin County Facilities project staff, as well as the outside firms who completed the project:
Later this fall, artwork by Bebe Keith will be installed in the large picture windows along the east side of the library. Suspended from the ceiling, the artwork is composed of 12 glass panels, featuring colors and patterns of the seasons and representing the location of the sunrise each month throughout the year.
We look forward to sharing new spaces together and welcoming the community back to Ridgedale Library, this fall and beyond.
