Update on community input for the new Southdale Library

Library staff are currently reviewing the input from community meetings that were held earlier this year and will complete the review and make a recommendation by early fall.

The community meetings showed strong preference for:

• A stand-alone library that is connected to the neighborhood
• Excellent access for pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorists
• Support for children, youth, families, adults and seniors
• Strong collections
• Connections to outdoor space and adjacent trails and parks
• Innovative partnerships with art and other community-based organizations
