About the art

In this major art display anchoring the children’s area, Christopher Tully has created a vibrant ode to the nearby Mississippi River and its inhabitants. Its rich colors—deep blues, vivid greens—invite visitors to swim in its depths, just like the fish shown swimming in the river. And Tully’s mix of two-dimensional painting, relief and three-dimensional sculpture creates layers of texture and visual interest that bring the scene to life, inviting kids to similarly explore, interact and connect with their library space.
