About the art

Welcoming visitors in both the north and south vestibules of the library is a collaborative mural, composed of layers of enamel tiles. Coated, fired, painted and fired again, this layering process reflects the many voices and stories the artists heard from community members. The dynamic mosaic invites viewing from multiple angles and perspectives throughout the day, as the light illuminates new details within recurring motifs, such as the river. Swirling and transforming, the river reflects changing narratives and the cultural wave of the community.
