As the year comes to a close, we’re taking a look back at Hennepin County Library’s most borrowed books of the year. Curious about what your fellow book lovers were reading this year?

In 2023, Hennepin County Library patrons checked out more than 10.7 million books across the system.

"The numbers speak for themselves – Hennepin County residents love to read!" said Scott Duimstra, library director. "Year after year, residents turn to their libraries to learn, and to connect with others. This year was no exception as libraries across the system saw increased visits, and we might get close to 11 million check outs by the end of the year."
