MNspin is a free local music streaming service offered by Hennepin County Library. MNspin connects Minnesota artists with new audiences and offers listeners an ad-free exploration of our rich, diverse local music scene.
MNspin launched in 2017 and has received generous financial support from the Friends of the Hennepin County Library.
How to listen
The MNspin collection contains more than 500 albums across 14 genres. All local, Minnesota music. Anyone can stream from the platform, and library cardholders can download songs free. Listeners can discover music by artists such as Nur-D, Gaelynn Lea, Maygen & The Birdwatcher, Muja Messiah, Allie McIntosh, and Los Rebeldes on the platform.
New direction for 2024
Since 2017, Hennepin County Library has been building its collection of diverse local music through an annual call for submissions.
We will be taking a pause on submissions for MNspin in 2024 as we evaluate music resources at Hennepin County Library. No new music will be added in 2024. You may contact mnspin@hclib.org with questions.
