New Cargill Gallery exhibit: Voices of the Unheard

George Floyd Memorial

The George Floyd Global Memorial introduces “Voices of the Unheard.” This exhibit highlights voices of black youth. It was designed by engaging black students, discussing the events of the 2020 Uprising, and allowing each student to choose a protest sign that resonated with their feelings.

More than 120 youth at Harvest Best Academy, Anoka High School Multicultural Perspectives Course, and Minneapolis Central Library’s Teen Tech Center participated. This exhibit creates space to lift the voices of youth through the language of protest.

Visit the exhibit at the Cargill Gallery, located on the second floor of Minneapolis Central Library, from February 9 – March 29.

Opening reception

The George Floyd Global Memorial will host an opening reception Thursday, February 8, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Cargill Gallery.
