Cargill Gallery presents: Shifting Perspectives

Hennepin County Library announces its next Cargill Gallery exhibit, Art from the Inside: Shifting Perspectives, an exciting showcase of art that challenges conventional views and encourages new ways of seeing the world.
This exhibit is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in thought-provoking pieces from talented artists currently serving time in Minnesota as well as incredible works from returning neighbors. Experience the power of art to transform perspectives and inspire change.
Visit the exhibit at the Cargill Gallery, located on the second floor of Minneapolis Central Library, from March 1 through April 27, 2025.

Returning neighbors, artists who have re-entered the community after incarceration, will guide participants through a hands-on art and wellness activity that highlights the healing power of creativity and self-expression. This is an opportunity to connect, create, and reflect on how art can play a transformative role in personal growth and community building. Whether you’re an artist or someone looking to explore new creative outlets, this event promises an enriching and restorative experience for all. Art supplies provided.

Exhibit tour in gallery (2 - 3 p.m.) followed by screening and discussion
Join us for an impactful evening and screening of the film, JUSTICE-REFORMED, followed by a panel discussion focused on policy and criminal justice reform. This event will offer an in-depth look at the experiences of those directly impacted by the justice system, highlighting the intersection of art, wellness, and reform. The panel, composed of advocates, policy experts, and formerly incarcerated individuals, will explore ways to create meaningful change within our justice system. This is an opportunity to engage in important conversations, challenge existing narratives, and learn how we can all contribute to a more just and equitable future.
