Nokomis Library

Nokomis Library was built in 1968 and renovated in 2011 featuring Minnesota limestone. It serves the Nokomis neighborhood of south Minneapolis. The building was originally designed to reflect its legendary surroundings, as told in the epic Henry Wadsworth Longfellow poem, “The Song of Hiawatha.” The library is named for Nokomis, one of fictional characters in the poem.
