Program and author visit proposals

Library programs promote literacy and the collection, technology, cultural and arts diversity, and the library's services and resources. Programs and events are planned to provide lifelong opportunities and to respond to the needs and interests of people of all ages, families, groups and local communities. Partnerships are encouraged to enhance the program experience and reach out to new and diverse patron groups.

How to submit a proposal for a program or author visit

Hennepin County Library (HCL) is committed to diversity and inclusion in its programming and business opportunities—leveraging these contracts to advance equity in the community we serve. Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) entrepreneurs are encouraged to submit proposals.

Please review the following information and then submit your proposal online using the link at the end of this page. You will only be contacted if the program meets our guidelines and fits into our programming needs, schedule, and budget. Due to volume, we are unable to respond to all program submissions.

Writers living in Minnesota and have their work published in book form are encouraged to submit their information to the Minnesota Writer's Directory, a project of The Friends of the Saint Paul Public Library and the Minnesota Center for the Book. Hennepin County Library staff will refer to the Minnesota Writer's Directory when identifying potential author visit programs. You may use the library's program and author visit form if your author program specifically meets the mission of the library.
